It was December 2017. We were on our way to Devonport to take our ferry back to Melbourne. We googled and found Low Head near Launceston. It was about two and half hours drive. This is a beautiful set up on the sea side. George Town is the place. There are penguin tours. We had to give it a miss as we were heading towards Launceston … but we have added it to visit list. Devonport is about an hour and half drive Launceston is just 40 minutes drive…. It is a beautiful place ….

Great little place, excellent fish and chips, happy friendly service, amazing views. Had the fish tacos, fish and chips and pineapple fritters, all were great. Many Gluten Free options and they understand Coeliacs, even GF beer to have with my GF battered fish, 10/10 for inclusion, 5/10 for my diet .

Ripper smallish café & licensed-restaurant with friendly ‘hip’ staff serving an excellent lightly battered fish & chips, chicken & artichoke pie and bread & butter pudding. Excellent to find this gem nestled amongst the historic buildings on the Maritime Museum grounds at the end of the road in Low Head with cool views while protected from the elements. Thank you for being worth the visit.

Beautiful coffee and lovely service — we really enjoyed our visit! There’s a 10% surcharge, which we weren’t thrilled about, but we understand. Overall, a great spot for a good coffee and friendly atmosphere.

Just soooo delicious! We bought the basket and the scallops were the best I’ve ever eaten. Beautiful prepared and cooked. Best piccolo latte I’ve had in my trip from Sydney through Tassie, exceptional place, must visit. We stayed in the cottage too, very special few days. Check opening times/days so you don’t miss out.
